Pietro Rocco di
Torrepadula
Pietro has over 6 years’ experience in finance and development consulting, particularly in the Middle East and Africa. He began his career in investor relations for a Middle-Eastern private equity firm, working on fund-raising mandates and subsequently moved to Standard Chartered where he was primarily involved in capital markets transactions in emerging markets
Since 2018, Pietro has been heavily involved, both academically and professionally in the development finance space. He has worked as a consultant for numerous international organisations and NGOs. These include the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), UNDP, OECD, IFAD and ADA Luxembourg, as well as private sector partners in India, the UAE and various Sub-Saharan African countries. Pietro has also focussed on education, working with Opportunity International Edufinance on research and development projects to improve schools infrastructure and students’ access to finance. This aligns closely with the situation in Lebanon and the Trust’s mission there.
Pietro is fully committed to and inspired by the objectives of the Trust in Lebanon, a country as well as the overall region which he knows well. He will provide the Trust with valuable assistance in an informal capacity. He will leverage his previous experiences to further support the Trust on various strategic initiatives including navigating the global donor landscape, particularly faith based and private sector foundations. Pietro will also work closely with the Trustees and other TCCT consultants to develop the Trust’s monitoring, evaluation and learning processes so that the ASP’s impact can be clearly mapped and communicated to donors, partners and stakeholders.
The Trustees were pleased to announce that Pietro accepted their offer to formally become a Consultant to the Trust for all projects in Lebanon from July 2021.
Pietro holds a bachelor’s from Oxford University and a master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University in New York. A dual French and Italian citizen, he is currently residing in the UK.
